VietNamNet Bridge – On the occasion of International Children’s Day, the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra and the Goethe-Institut will jointly hold a family concert for children and their parents in the concert hall of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, 77 Hao Nam Street, Hanoi, on May 31.
The music will feature works by German composer Richard Strauss.
The stories of Till Eulenspiegel will be told by a narrator and they will be conveyed through the music itself. Till Eulenspiegel is famous for never taking neither himself nor his fellows too seriously but looking at life from a humorous point of view.
The narrator is sometimes a fool, sometimes a superhero. The children are welcome to participate – even conducting can be tried out! The children and their parents get to know all sorts of interesting facts about the different instruments.
The symphonic poem “Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks” was performed for the first time in Vietnamese by the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra. Now the work can be experienced by a young audience in a staged version.
The concert will be commanded by Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji, with the participation of piano soloist Nguyen Viet Trung, actor Bui Nhu Lai and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra.
The concert for school classes (by invitation only) will take place at 3pm and the one for families will be at 8pm on May 31.
