Vietnam Airlines now accespants e-boarding spanasses

Passengers flying with Vietnam Airlines will be saved from wasting time at the check-in counter as the national flag carrier will accept electronic boarding passes starting Thursday, June 25.

Passengers who have completed check-in online can choose either to print their boarding passes, or have the documents sent to their email inboxes, according to Vietnam Airlines.

At airports, these passengers can skip the check-in counters and present the boarding passes on their mobile devices, such as smartphones or tablets, to the officers at the security screening section to board their flights.

Previously those who checked in online still had to complete verification at the check-in counter and get paper boarding passes.

The mobile boarding passes are applicable to passengers without checked baggage boarding flights at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, Da Nang International Airport in Da Nang, and Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, according to Vietnam Airlines.

The web check-in must be completed 24 to two hours prior to their scheduled departure time.

The national flag carrier said the mobile boarding passes will save time for passengers, who may have to wait in long lines at the check-in counters.

They will no longer have to be present at the airport 40 minutes prior to departure.
