Pictures: On the top of Ba Na Hills

Located at an altitude of 1487 meters, Ba Na Hills was founded in the 1920s by French colonists and is accessible by cable car. Due to its altitude, the temperature here is comfortably cool all year round.

Ba Na cable car is the longest (over 5km) and highest cable car in the world, offering fantastic views of the surrounding area. The temperate climate, unspoiled forest and spectacular views overlooking Da Nang’s bay and the Lao mountain range made Ba Na Hills a popular retreat for the French in the past.

At the top of Ba Na hills is a park featuring a replica of a European castle, and a spectacular underground amusement park carved into the mountain, featuring many types of rides. Also nearby is the Linh Ung Pagoda, featuring a 27-meter tall white Buddha statue overlooking the clouds and mist of Ba Na Hills, visible for miles around.

Visitors can enjoy all four seasons in just one day at the top of the hills: The mountainous climate creates spring in the morning, summer at noon, autumn in the evening and winter at night. The sky is unusually clear at these high altitudes, providing visitors clear views of Da Nang City and Son Tra Peninsula year round.

The height of the Ba Na cable car makes the ride a truly amazing trip over the mountainous jungle.
