VTV and TBS to produce second TV drama

After the first jointly produced TV drama Nguoi cong su (fellowworker), Vietnam Television (VTV) and Japan’s Tokyo Broadcasting System(TBS) Television will turn out the second drama “Khuc hat mat troi” (thesun’s song).

Local actress Nha Phuong is cast in the new TV drama “Khuc hat mat troi” (the sun’s song).

The 24-episode drama, based on a Japanese script, began to be filmedduring the cherry blossom season in Japan in mid-April. With settings inboth Vietnam and Japan the drama is expected to go on air at the end ofthis year.

It is directed by Bui Tien Huy and Vu Truong Khoa.

Famous Japanese singer/actress Nao Matsushita and local veteran actressThu Ha, a one-time beauty symbol of the country’s cinema, are cast inthe movie.

Matsushita said she is happy to join the project as she played a major role in the original version of Japan nine years ago.

Local young actress Nha Phuong has gained rising popularity since thebroadcasting of a soap opera named “Tuoi thanh xuan” (youth) co-producedby VTV and South Korea’s CJ E&M in which she played one of theleading roles.

The cast members also include actor/model Huynh Anh, model/MC Hoang Oanh and actor Quang Tuan.

Nguoi cong su won numerous prizes at major film festivals in Vietnam.
