The Voyager ofthe Seas is the third-largest ship in the world, following Oasis of theSeas and Quantum of the Seas, with a length of 311 meters and a width of48 meters, 15 decks, and 1,306 rooms.
After docking at Chan May Port visitors can visit historic sites andlandscapes and enjoy local cuisine and other services in Thua Thien Hue,Da Nang, and Hoi An.
The upgrading of Wharf 1 received total investment of VND310 billion($12.8 million). The Royal Caribbean International Corporation from theUS, which owns Voyager of the Seas, invested $5 million in the upgrades,which will permit the berthing of passenger ships more than 360 metersin length and carrying 4,000 to 5,000 passengers.
The port is now able to berth large vessels such as Quantum of theSeas and Oasis of the Sea, which will boost the development of the localtourism industry and local logistics services.
Chairman of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee, Mr.Nguyen Van Cao, expects the port will attract over 60,000 tourists toHue this year.
Oasis of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the world, with alength of 361 meters and a capacity of 5,400 passengers and 2,394 crewmembers. It has seven entertainment areas, 21 pools, and 37 bars.
Quantum of the Seas, which has a length of 347 meters, 18 decks, and2,090 rooms, can accommodate up to 5,000 guests and 1,500 crew members.It is the second-largest cruise ship in the world and docked at Tan Cang- Cai Mep Port in Ho Chi Minh City on June 17.
