From September 4, 1975 to June this year, the museum attracted 17 million visitors, including over 6.5 million foreigners, becoming one of the most visited museums in HCMC and the country as a whole, the museum’s director Huynh Ngoc Van told the ceremony.
Since 2011, TripAdvisor, a world renowned travel website, has repeatedly listed the museum as a must-see destination in Asia based on votes by foreign visitors.
The museum displays 15,000 items, photos and documents about the war, she said.
The War Remnants Museum of HCMC is now a member of the International Network of Museums for Peace and the International Council of Museums.
