Three-Michelin starred French chef Bruno Menard
Three-Michelin starred French chef Bruno Ménard, who is also a MasterChef Asia judge, wowed Vietnamese food lovers on Thursday evening with a five-course dinner challenge he took.
Menard teamed up with Chile’s iconic wine brand, Don Melchor of Concha y Toro, to conduct a “culinary challenge tour” around Asia. He has created a unique five-course dinner to pair with five of Don Melchor’s classic vintages.
The first leg of the tour was Ho Chi Minh City. The venue for the challenge was five-star Sheraton Saigon Hotel and Towers in the city’s downtown.
The menu features poached eggs with air cured beef, pan roasted foie gras, pan roasted lobster, rib-eye Wagyu beef, and fresh strawberry compote – all created by Ménard to pair with Don Melchor’s classic vintages of 1988, 1990, 2007, 2010 and 2011.
Cities included in the tour will be Singapore, Tokyo, Osaka, Shanghai, Seoul, Macau and Taipei.
Ménard earned 3 Michelin stars at L’Osier, a Tokyo-based restaurant that has been voted one of the top French restaurants outside of France. Bruno has spent 20 years establishing some of the best restaurants in Asia and currently runs a top-tier culinary consulting firm in Singapore.
