The Mekong Delta Tourism, Culture Week in Ha Noi 2015 is organized with the aim to introduce and honor the values of cultural heritage of Mekong Delta region to people in the country and international friends, in addition to affirming the significant contribution of tourism to economic, cultural and social development. The event is also one of the activities heading towards National Tourism Year 2016 – Phu Quoc – Mekong Delta.
Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Minister Vuong Duy Bien informed that the event with the participation of 13 Mekong Delta provinces, cities of Kien Giang, An Giang, Hau Giang, Can Tho, Ca Mau, Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Vinh Long, Tien Giang, Long An, Dong Thap, Ben Tre will feature a variety of activities that promise to bring visitors exciting experiences of southern region.
The event will include numerous activities such as an exhibition themed ‘‘The colors of Mekong Delta culture’’; a contest to discover the land of the Mekong Delta region; art performances of Mekong Delta provinces; introducing about specialties of the Mekong Delta region; a forum on ‘‘preservation and promotion of the values of cultural heritage and tourism products of the Mekong Delta region’’.
The opening ceremony with the art program honoring cultural heritage and people of the Mekong Delta region will be held on November 16, at the Viet Nam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Art. It will be aired live on Viet Nam Television (VTV2 Channel) beginning at 8.00pm.
