New Zealand promotes culture, tourism in Viet Nam



The seminar started with a Maori welcome


The seminar had the presence of Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Vice Chairman of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Quang Lan, Chairman of Ha Noi Tourism Association; representatives of Vietnamese tourism enterprises and media agencies.


According to Mr. Haike Manning, New Zealand Ambassador to Viet Nam, New Zealand is known as one of the world’s leading tourism destinations with numerous pristine natural beauties, famous movie sets and a wide variety of high quality activities or entertainments, unique foods and beverages. He hoped the seminar would be a good opportunity for Vietnamese and New Zealand businesses to enhance tourism cooperation.


At the seminar, New Zealand businesses including famous names as General Travel New Zealand, Great Sights, Southern Discoveries, Hobbiton, Te Puia; Mitchell Corp and Air New Zealand introduced their tour products offering different experiences such as whale watching, swimming with wild dolphins, sightseeing waterfalls, visiting the movie set that featured in the film “The Lord of the Rings”, unique sheep farm experience. Besides, representative of New Zealand Visa Application Centre provided useful informations on visa procedures to New Zealand.

Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung spoke highly of New Zealand as one of the Viet Nam’s source markets. In 2014, Viet Nam welcomed over 33,000 New Zealand tourist arrivals, and 22,000 arrivals in the first 9 months of 2015. He hoped that New Zealand businesses would have nice time in Viet Nam to discover Viet Nam’s beauty and reintroduce to New Zealand people.


He believed an increasing number of Vietnamese tourists to New Zealand could be seen in the coming time due to abundant tourism potential, amazing landscapes and unique culture. He proposed New Zealand Embassy in Viet Nam and tourism enterprises to facilitate Vietnamese people and enterprises to visit and study in New Zealand, contributing to enhance tourism cooperation between the two countries.


The same seminar was also held in Ho Chi Minh City on 28 Sept, which was to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vietnam – New Zealand diplomatic relations in 2015.
