Third prize for Vietnam at ASEAN photo contest

Vietnamese contestant Ho Van Dien has been awarded the third place prize for his entry ‘Mother and Sons’ at the ASEAN biodiversity photo contest, recently held in Los Banos in the Philippines, according to Business Mirror.

The first prize went to Hans Tangmanpoowadol (Thailand) for his entry ‘Unity’. Kyaw Kyaw Winn (Myanmar) was given the second place prize for his entry ‘Fishermen of Inle Lake’.

A total of US$3,000 was handed over to the winners.

With the theme of “One ASEAN, One Biodiversity” the contest showed, through photographs, that ASEAN member states are linked through biodiversity.

Eight months after launching the contest, the organizing board received 1,125 entries from ten ASEAN member states.

The entries were assessed based on relevance to the theme, composition, creativity and technical ability.
